If you are filing with the Department of Buildings to get a permit for your remodeling or construction job, you’re going to need to complete ACP5 testing. ACP stands for Asbestos Control Program, which verifies that no friable ACM (asbestos-containing material) was found in the asbestos survey. Even if you know your home, office, or condo doesn’t contain asbestos, if your job requires a DOB work permit, it requires an asbestos survey.

There are two forms of asbestos to look for: friable and non-friable. The forms will verify this or that the friable-asbestos contained area is less than 10 square feet or less than 25 linear feet.
